The port of Puerto Banús is renowned for being a place of glamour and luxury and is situated in the Southern part of Marbella on Spain’s Sunshine Coast or “Costa del Sol”. It was constructed only in the 70s by a developer José Banús as a luxury marina that would draw in the jet-set crowd for many years after.

Walking down the promenade you can see the epitome of luxury in the rows of yachts, catamarans and speedboats moored alongside it, there are also a parade of luxury sports cars cruising along slowly as this is THE place to see and be seen.

Puerto Banús has two different ambiences, during the day it is more relaxed and many tourists come to window-shop at the luxurious stores that line the marina known as “the golden mile”, with high-end designer boutiques all along the promenade including Luis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, Manuel Spinosa and all the big-name designers.

You can also go shopping and meet the wide variety of fashion stores such as shoe stores, jewelry stores, clothing stores and of course a typical Banus Port gift shops.

One of the attractions of the promenade aside from all the displays of wealth and luxury is Dali’s famous sculpture of a Rhino in Banus.

When the sun goes down, Puerto Banús springs to life and you can party here in the expensive and glamourous clubs until the sun rises the next morning. If you intend on going out be sure to put on your finest clothes and be prepared to spend money as going out in Marbella’s trendiest nightspot is not cheap! One of Puerto Banús’ most famous bars is Olivia Valere, whose night time parties draw in Marbella’s elite, and it is not unusual to spot a local or international celebrity or two!

Puerto Banús also has access to some excellent beaches including the biggest beach in Marbella, Mistral, situated just 20 minutes by foot from the port and nightlife area. The beach is lined with “chiringuitos” or beachside restaurants and you can even hire out jet skis or try your hand at wakeboarding. If you prefer to relax, there are plenty of hammocks and sun loungers which can be rented for the day, so you can lay around soaking up the sunshine whilst sipping on a cocktail.

Senda Litoral Dunas de Artola is another beautiful natural attraction near Puerto Banús, located at Cabopino Beach. Here you can enjoy the landscape of sand dunes with the azure Mediterranean sea beyond and enjoy the sensation of the sea breeze on your skin.
